What to Expect

Your dog's journey starts by messaging me with the goals you have for your canine companion. After gathering information about your pet, we'll schedule the Introductory Session to show you and your dog how the sessions work. If they love the treadmill, we book their Drop-In Kardio sessions to keep them moving this summer.

Q: Why choose this service?

A: You are choosing someone with the necessary experience to support your pet's health and happiness. With a BA in Biology, five years in the veterinary field, and advanced training in high level canine obedience, this is more than a job - it's a passion. I take the responsibility of caring for your pet seriously. Fully licensed and insured, I provide safe, effective, and personalized treadmill sessions to help your dog thrive.

Q: What does my dog need to start?

A: Your dog will need to be current on a physical exam and required vaccines. Having them be comfortable on a leash will help ensure a smooth transition to the treadmill.

Q: Is my dog a good candidate?

A: Since the treadmill is a form of impact, moderate to high intensity exercise, this program is best suited for physically mature dogs. Depending on the breed, this may range from nine months-old to three years-old. Your veterinarian can advise you on if this is an appropriate form of exercise for your pet.  The weight range is for dogs up to 160 pounds.

Q: What kind of equipment do I need?

A: Just a well-fitting collar for your dog, and their favorite treat! I bring everything else required for the session.

Q: What does a treadmill workout look like?

A: The portable treadmill will be set up on top of a professional grade equipment mat in a designated place in your home. I will let your dog out for a potty break first and give them a short warmup. Your dog will be fitted with a heartrate monitor which is connected to an app to give real-time readings. Next, using their preferred reward and praise they are guided onto the treadmill, where a short leash is secured to their collar. We begin the pre-determined workout for that day, changing the speed accordingly to include a warmup and cool down. Notes are taken for that day so we can track progress and maintain proper speeds for their cardiovascular capabilities. Once we are done, they are gently unclipped and lead off the treadmill, everything is removed from the home and your pet gets to relax and recover.

Q: Do I need to be present for the session?

A: You can be as involved in their workouts as you'd like, but being present in the home is not necessary. One of the benefits of this service is being able to exercise your pet when you're away - at work, vacation, or spending the day on the green.
